Gardner Dozios Reviews "The West Pier Gazette" in LOCUS
The March issue of LOCUS magazine, the premiere professional Science Fiction publication, has a review out of Three Legged Fox's "The West Pier Gazette and Other Stories". The review is by Gardner Dozios and is in his "Gardernspace: A Short Fiction Column". Gardner gives the book an overall positive review. Considering my story is in this book, along with Liz Williams and Geoff Ryman and Chris Butler, I am very pleased indeed. Oh, and the paperback is coming!!!!!
NEW YEAR, NEW ANTHOLOGY
Happy New Year to you! Although the economic worries seem to want to make 2009 a downer, I shall stay positive. First positive note, I am revising a story for the new Quercus SF anthology. While the first book, Quercus One: "The West Pier Gazette and Other Stories" is heading for paperback and mass market comsumption, Quercus Two: "The Spike and Other Stories" is being lined-up. If you are heading for EasterCon this year, the publisher, Three Legged Fox Books, will be selling copies of Quercus One and announce the completed author line-up for the second book. Maybe I'll see you there?
New Issue of Jupiter SF Magazine
I have a story in the new issue of JUPITER SF magazine. This is issue 22 and is called Harpalyke. Jupiter is a lovely little magazine that features stories from new writers and established authors. Having been around over four years it has a strong readership. Its format is cute and harkens back to the old pulp days. Pick up a copy.
New Anthology and Sci-Phi Journal Magazine
My latest update sees a story of mine in yet another anthology, this one called "Cuckoo" and is edited by Chris Butler. Mr Butler has appeared in Asimov's magazine, Interzone and various other professional markets. The anthology features works by professional writers Elizabeth Counihan, Mike Lewis, Colin P. Davies, Jessica Reisman and many others. "Cuckoo" can be purchased at Anthology Builder, a professional custom book site created by Nancy Fulda, assistant editor of Jim Baen's Universe. (Just click the Anthology Builder link above to get there and buy yourself a copy. I hope you enjoy it.)Additionally, my story "Mother Tongue" will appear in Sci-Phi Journal. This magazine is going through some minor changes, but I am glad it is still around.
More Professional Anthologies
I hope you are gearing up and purchasing copies of The West Pier Gazette and Other Stories. Review copies are going out to Interzone, Locus and many other respected places.
I have also been asked by the editor to produce a second story for the second anthology, Quercus Two: The Spike and Other Stories. If a similar line up of professional authors is had then it will be another great read.
New Year, New Book
Happy New Year everyone! The year 2007 was a good year for me, publishing-wise. A good number of stories appeared in many respected publications. I couldn't be happier. Well, yeah, I could. And I am. This new year is already off to a promising start. Jupiter magazine will publish a third story of mine for their fifth anniversary issue in July (more details as the time approaches). Also, my English publisher has finalised the proofs! So 2008 will see the release of the book, The West Pier Gazette and Other Stories. Authors copies are already out and it looks great. Nice to see my story in a real, professional book. This book features stories from great authors such as Liz Williams, James Lovegrove, Lavie Tidhar and grandmaster Harry Harrison. Sadly, the book is a British-only publication for now. Eventually it will be available to those overseas. So internationals will have to wait. So, British nationals, get your money out. (More news on that and where to buy the book when the time arrives.)
Niteblade available
The December issue of Niteblade is now available. It features fiction by myself, Peter Tennant, AJ Kenning, SM Foster and many more. For a new publication it has some good names and equally good stories.
